In January, 2016, while serving in the U.S. Army, the Lord led Anthony Rea and his wife, Melissa, to provide a place of warm Christian fellowship that centers on verse by verse Bible teaching for all people. Living Water Christian Fellowship is the fruit of that leading. Living Water began as an online bible study with participants scattered across the United States and is now a local church with the same mission – simply teaching the whole Bible, simply.
Our name is inspired by John 4:10, while during conversation Jesus tells a woman, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you LIVING WATER” The Bible teaches that Jesus desires to give all people this living water and we are committed to serving Him in this way.
Since 2006, Anthony and Melissa have been actively involved in ministry. Anthony began as a staffer at Calvary Chapel Tallahassee, FL where he learned about service through waxing floors, cutting grass, answering phones, and serving the Body through Bible teaching in middle school, high school, college home groups, and the Calvary Chapel Bible College extension campus.
In 2009, Anthony and Melissa moved to Columbus, GA and plugged into Calvary Chapel Columbus where they served on the worship team from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, the Army moved the Rea family to Rock Island, IL where they served alongside the saints at Calvary Chapel Quad Cities. Anthony and Melissa continued to lead worship during their time at Calvary Chapel Quad Cities. Anthony also served as the interim-Pastor during the fall and winter of 2015 as CCQC was in the midst of tremendous change.
Over the past decade the Lord has carefully ordered their steps and trained them in loving others. By Jesus’ grace, Anthony and the team at Living Water Christian Fellowship are committed to teaching the Bible simply, verse by verse, in order to glorify God and equip the saints for every good work.
Living Water Christian Fellowship is part of the Calvary Chapel movement.
